Don’t fear of failure. Let’s fall, stand, and run again!!! FAIL — First Attempt In Learning

We all might have faced the failures in life at any stage and this is not my pessimist side. Most people connect the failure with complete defeat; however, some of us come up as a strong personality in the future and we admire them for standing up against those failures.

Albeit I don’t remember my childhood days but definitely can relate with that moment when we all learn to stand first on our feet, shivering & trembling. We fall again and again but never feel defeated and get up to stand. But with life’s journey, we forget that first lesson and start scared of failure in later stages of life.

I also faced failure in my life but those were days when I learned a lot. I would not like to unwind the clock to let me caught in those moments again. Failures are part of life’s design to understand it better and make it useful for others too.

Throughout my failures, I came away with some important lessons which I want to share with all of you.

  1. It is not the end — When we fail, it feels like everything we hoped for and dreamt of is now completely out of our reach. But later we realize, this was the moment when we took ownership and found new ways to go ahead. Most of the time, I used to worry more about the fear of failure rather than the failure itself. What will others think? How will I look in front of my peers? While those are some questions we might ask, failure certainly isn’t the end of the road.
  2. Develop new ways to cope with emotions — It’s hard to stay focused and committed when we’re upset and reeling from the pain of failure. Our emotions can be all over the place, up and down like a rollercoaster ride. When I faced failure the first time, there were lots of emotions playing in my mind. But with passing days, I came up with many strategies to cope with emotions; how to refocus and retrain my mind to see positive things rather than the negative ones.
  3. Success isn’t everything — When we take a step, we always think of success only and never give importance to failure. And when we face the failure, we are shattered inside and feel very disheartened. Might be the case, we did not define the success correctly. When we value success over everything else, failure comes in its demon form. Hence value own happiness and contribution, success becomes effortless.
  4. Seek out inspirations from others — I always felt that the person who failed in life, teaches you more than a successful person. He can teach us many lessons from his own experience and let us escape from repeating those mistakes in our life. Many people had failed numerous times before getting successful. So never be too hard on yourself for failure in life.
  5. Learn to never give up — I understand that it is easier to say than follow, “Never give up”. But always remember those childhood days and try to learn that skill again in our life. Once we start harboring deep enough meaning for succeeding, we learn not to give up and life will be more blissful.

No matter how many times people laugh at you, walk all over you, or just plain ignore you, you just keep pushing. It doesn’t matter if we only progress just a little bit each day. What matters is that we make some progress at all. We can’t just stop.
