Don’t deceit anyone!

There is an old adage that “’Once bitten twice shy". In our life, we come across various events which give us sour experience and don’t allow us to trust anyone again in the future.

One day, my housemaid came with a crying face and on being asked the reason, she told me that her father in law passed away. Hence she needs to go to visit him for the last rituals in her home. She asked for some advance amount which definitely seemed to be the need for the hour in such a personal emergency. I gave her condolences and provided some money so that she can go to her village and attend the last rituals. Later after a few days, I came to know that she is still in the town and moved her accommodation due to some other personal reason and asked for a good amount of money from other houses likewise she requested the money from me. It was a shocking moment for me because I didn’t expect such things to happen. I felt cheated and this event became a life time lesson for me.

Things were moving at their own pace in life until one day, my second maid shared her personal story that her mother in law is severely ill and very much less chance of her survival. Within seconds, I remembered my previous experience which was not good. Later another day, everything happened in the flashback when she said that her mother in law passed away and wanted to attend her last rituals. She was also asking for a full advance payment for going to her home town. However, on the basis of my previous experience I could not give her full money but gave her whatever amount was due to her.

Connecting both the stories, albeit look to be simple and normal life events but resulted into disrespectful experience. It is always advised that don’t distrust anyone because it will have an impact on the individual’s personality. That person will hardly believe in anyone in the future even if everything is real.
